I picked these up to facilitate some mods I wanted to make to my 3D printer, and I can say they work for that purpose. There's a great variety in this set, so you can get the right connector for what you're trying to do, and they do work as advertised. However, I wouldn't trust these to be "waterproof". After a few days in a warm (not hot) environment, the seals give a little bit.
