I use these for setting wires in places where I really need them to stay and withstand outside complications like weather, terrain, etc. They work easily enough that I can get them to seal pretty easily with a battery powered heat gun, and once they set they are incredibly tough, and seem to be entirely waterproof.These are much better than the old twist on nuts, and I'm glad to have them when I really need a splice to stay.
